I have eight years clinical experience within the UK National Health Service (South London and Maudsley and Guy's and St Thomas') and a private clinic in Kuwait. Within these positions I have worked therapeutically with clients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds with a range of needs within individual and group therapy. This work has been in a variety of settings including primary and secondary mental health services, inpatient psychiatric services as well as learning disability and neurodevelopmental services. I have also held teaching and supervisory positions for trainee psychiatrists at the University of Kuwait and consulted within Kuwaiti and London hospitals for patients with autoimmune diseases and chronic pain. I have extensive research experience, based at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, within projects focussing on health and neuropsychology as well as community mental health and parent training. I continue to involve myself in research and provide editing services for psychology professors at the University of Leipzig.
I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and I am a registered Psychologist with the UK Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (efpa; EuroPsy; this is recognised by the Berufsverband Deutscher Psychologinnen und Psychologen. I am also a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and as a trained EMDR practitioner, I have membership with the EMDR Association UK & Ireland and EMDR Europe.
